Media influence can be described as the actual force subliminal presented by a media message, which can result in one of two things.
- A change or reinforcement in audience or individual beliefs. Media effects can be measured and represents a direct result from media influence or a media message. Media influence is also contingent on many factors, including audience, demographics and psychological characteristics. These effects can be both positive or negative, abrupt or gradual, or short-term and long-lasting. Dependent on time spent around demographics as well as media exposure.
- Reinforce an existing belief. From the early 20th century to the 1930s, developing mass media technologies, such as radio and film, were credited with an almost irresistible power to mold an audience's beliefs. These assumptions were judged based on human nature.
For this particular assignment we would like you to research three different types of media exmples would be audio, visual and touch. Touch would include items that one would use for marketing such as business cards, brochures, brand apparel etc. Explain how these tools can achieve the following measurable results.
- Marketing using audio
- Marketing using video
- Marketing using brand merchandising.
Which marketing tool is most cost efficient, which would you consider too be more or less time consuming. Weigh out the positives and the negative. Is the price worth the timed saved, vice versa.
How can each tool be used to reach an audience. Feel free to use a variety of platforms as examples to support your tool, which would be audio, visula or brand marketing.
