Even though email marketing, from a conventional prospective, is often times labeled as a tired, over-saturated medium for engaging consumers, According to an Adobe campaign team study on more than 400 US-based white collar workers, 18 and older, regarding the use of their email, as of August 2015, nine of 10 respondents say they check personal email at work and work email from home, along with more than one third report having multiple personal accounts. On average, survey respondents report using email six hours a day, or 30+ hours a week. In 2020, the number of global e-mail users amounted to four billion and is set to grow to 4.6 billion users in 2025. In 2020, approximately 306 billion e-mails were sent and received every day worldwide. This figure is projected to increase to over 376 billion daily e-mails in 2025 - statista. Now with this wealth of information at your deposal, a business owner how can you use this to your advantage to connect with and retain current and/or prospective customers.

As a Production Company email marketing is just part of the solution. As a business owner you have two challenges at hand. Client acquisition and then you have retention. In order to achieve some sort of consistency or balance, some type of email management system has to be set in place. What you need as a business owner is contact management. There are two types of contacts in our system.

  • ·         Website Visitors - anyone that visits your site that have not yet been identified by a form, personal, telephone or other interaction
  • ·         Standard Contact - A standard contact is the type of contact who have identified themselves via a form, personal, telephone or some other source. The expectation for this type of contact as a result, typically has a name, email, and other identifying fields.

We consider every type of contact to be an invaluable asset. Visitors are worth tracking, since they could be considered to be future prospective customers. Tracking them before interaction in combination with retaining a log will give you enough flexibility, which allows you to get a picture of their activity prior to engaging with you. Standard contacts should be the preferred contact when it comes to management. These contacts that may have started off as just visitors, at some point, decided to willingly provided additional information such as a name, email address, phone number social network handle, and/or other identifying information, allowing you to connect these type of activities from your website to a known person. You will now have the ability to nurture these contacts through our marketing automation platform, analyze trends and behaviors then respond appropriately.

 Monitoring the traffic and activity of contact visitors can be somewhat technical and frustrating to understand. Here at Batal Productions monitoring all traffic from a client website can be done by loading our javascript file or adding our tracking pixel to your website. Developing standard contacts may require a lot bit more of a personal touch. These types of contacts require significantly more personal information. Establishing a little rapport before collecting information can help a whole lot.

Another option that is perfectly legal so as long as you’re dealing with a registered reputable company is purchasing a lead list. As with everything in life there are pros and cons. Major factors that should be taken into consideration when purchasing leads is pricing, lead quality, consistency of usage, meaning don’t just open up a brand new box of contacts that you purchased six month ago. At this point, this contact may be beyond cold; Frozen is more like it. They’re probably someone else’s customer anyway. If you as a business owner decided that this should be a part of your strategic planning and have the budget for it, all purchased leads should be considered to be and treated as standard contacts and an attempt to contact, should be made as soon as possible. There are a variety of ways you can communicate/interact with your standard contacts. Telephone, email, in person, mail out campaigning, area canvassing, event video presentation.
