When it comes to comedy we all have to admit when compared to other industries of entertainment it is very profitable. It has proven to be a million dollar industry and can be introduced in a variety of formats. Comedy is considered to be a genre of works simply intended to create laughter among its audiences. It can be presented in the form of theatre, film, live performances, television, radio and even books. If we were to trace the origins of comedy it will take us back to a democratic Greece where it was very effective in influencing the public opinion of voters performed by comic poets in a theatric performance. It would be introduce to the public as a dramatic performance, pitting groups against each other in an amusing conflict. The youth would be targeted depicting the unnecessary struggles and obstacles set in place by society to their hopes and dreams. Other forms of comedy would include screwball comedy which introduce improbable situations, satire which would expose institutional corruption or parody, where the comic would use the technique of critiquing without condemnation.
