Ryan Garcia Failed Drug Test

Ryan Garcia is a professional boxer, whom in his early years decided at the tender age of seven, that one day he wanted to represent The United States as a boxer in the Olympics. Going professional at the age of seventeen, Ryan fought Edgar in Tijuana Mexico and won the bout with a technical knockout. His performance without a doubt, attracted the likeness of Oscar De La Hoya, an eight time world champion, whom established a firm in Los Angeles under the name Golden Boy Promotions.

Devin Haney, similar to his most recent opponent Ryan Garcia is not a force to be reckoned with. Haney is a professional boxer whom held multiple championships in two weight classes. Born in San Francisco he also started boxing at the age of seven and moved to Las Vegas at the age of fourteen. In the video below Mr. Haney is being interviewed by the ESPN SportsCenter and was asked to comment on the results of his most recent opponent Ryan Garcia’s positive drug testing results alongside his denial of usage. Devin opens up with a feeling of indifference towards Garcia’s denial stating that never before in history has any athlete openly admitted to using performance enhancement drugs so some form of a denial was expected.

Devin also admitted throughout his entire career he has never before felt that dominated in the ring so he had his suspicions. When compared to other fighters he felt outmatched. It made him question his boxing strategy, his trainer and his team overall. He also went on to reiterate that he wouldn’t be to interested in a rematch based on Garcia’s level of professionalism. He considers him to be a cheater, someone whom will do anything to win and potentially put his life in jeopardy in the ring one day.
