In this article we begin by exploring who a new addition to a well known Islamic terrorist group is, their goals for a Caliphate governed under strict sharia law a brief history of their terroristic attributes attacks and their most recent attack on the outskirts of Russia's capital

The main goal of Isis -k is to destabilize and replace a variety of governments within the Khorasan region

The Islamic State Khorasan Province or Isis-k is considered to be a regional branch of the Islamic State currently active in in the southern and central parts of Asia. Mainly Afghanistan and Pakistan. According to popular beliefs,the main goal of Isis -k is to destabilize and replace a variety of governments within the Khorasan region, establish a caliphate and exercise a very strict interpretation of sharia law, designed to expand above and beyond the region. Rather than establish a Caliphate through political measures or a combination of politics and military exercises which is standard in the Islamic world, widespread evidence show their only strategy consist of the brutal publicized killing of innocents including women and children, henceforth, branding them a terrorist organization. In the Sunni world of Islam a Caliphate should be elected by the people in a democratic setting. In Shia Islam a Caliphate should be chosen by Allah himself which is directly represented through the bloodline of the late Prophet (PBUH).

Isis-k is responsible for numerous attacks within the Afghanistan - Pakistan region mainly targeting Shia Muslims. For example, on August 2017 Isis-k, in collaboration with the Taliban conducted a joint military exercise resulting in the mass murder of innocent men,women and children in the north. Other notable attacks include the 2021 Kabul airport attack, killing thirteen American military personnel alongside one hundred sixty nine Afghans during a US withdrawal from the country, twin bombings in two thousand sixteen killing ninety seven Shia protesters in downtown Kabul & in July twenty twenty three a suicide bombing that killed sixty three. Based on international intelligence, Isis-k is believed to be made up of a combination of disgruntled militants and ex Taliban members whom believed the current Taliban isn’t extreme enough or has softened in most recent years.

On March twenty second, in what can be considered to be a brazen attack on Crocus city concert hall located on the outskirts of Russia’s capital, the rock group picnic was scheduled to perform. Suddenly, four gunmen open fire in the building’s foyer before entering the hall while continuing to shoot. Finally the attackers set fire to the hall’s entirety, which took Russian helicopters and other fire fighting authorities approximately ten hours to extinguish. According to numerous reports, a statement was later released by the militant group claiming responsibility for the attacks. The also claimed that the attack was considered to be an ongoing war aimed at countries considered to be fighting against Islam

Within fourteen hours, Russia’s federal secret service arrested eleven suspects, four whom were confirmed shooters. At least one hundred thirty seven people were killed while sixty were critically wounded Russian President Vladirnir Putin insinuated that somehow, the ongoing war with Ukraine may have ties with attack carried out at the concert hall.
